This year I have been looking for a place to house my museum. I have been looking for a site in Vincennes, Indiana. This was the home of Red Skelton. They will open a Red Skelton Performance Center soon. Vincennes was home to other Hollywood Hoosiers...silent star Alice Terry, western star Buck Jones, radio's Lone Ranger Brace Beemer, Green Acres' Alvy Moore and others. It is about hour away from major cites Evansville and Terre Haute. I believe that Vincennes likes to history by promoting it was Indiana's 1st city and education because of Vincennes University. The plan is to have the museum in downtown. The problem is finding a good place and money.
I have looked at properties. Some were good but sold before I made the decision. There was a large building that could have worked. I wish I have the money to say yes quickly but I can't. I have to think this through. I would have to quick my job and work on a plan to pay expenses. I would sell product that velate to Hollywood Hoosiers (videos, photos, toys and other items).
I have some retail experience in The Disney Store. My work in musuems, libraries, theater and video stores will be used. Please contact me if you would like to help. hoosierwood@onemain.com
