She tries to change the reason why she had to kill her husband. Some things do change but some stay the same. On New Year's eve she has to choice to kill her husband or to be killed by him. Not so good remake for TV in 1989 titled "Turn Back the Clock".

    S
    SALLY (1930 1st National)
(Starring: MARILYN MILLER, Alexander Gray, Joe E. Brown, MAUDE TURNER GORDON)
MARILYN plays a waitress that acts like as famous Russian dancer at a high class party organized by a wealthy woman played by GORDON. A millionair that has falling in love with her at the restuarant sees her and plays along. She is exposed by the restuarant owner. It happens that Ziegfeld was also at the party and he makes her a star.
It is to bad that this was done in the early days of sound. Marilyn was a Ziegfeld star but the poor quality of sound does not show her singing voice well. This is also in the period of poor musicals. The singing is a bit opera like and the acting is stiff. Miller was suppose to be a great tap dancer but I was not impressed. Joe E. Brown is best as the comic releaf.

    Y
    YOUNG MR. LINCOLN (1939)
    (Starring: Henry Fonda, MARJORIE WEAVER)
Fonda captures Lincoln easy going lawyer style. Using common scence and humor to solve cases. The movie deals bit with Lincoln Douglas rivalry for Mary Todd played by MARJORIE WEAVER. Most of the film is based on a true trial that was solved by Lincoln using an Almanac.
